So and Sew – Introduction to the Textile Industry is for people wishing to learn how to sew in a fun and engaging way. Perfect for those who have never used a sewing machine before, this course starts with the basics. The class will learn through completing the same guided project.

Functional English is required.

Course Information:

So and Sew will cover:
  • How to set up and use a sewing machine
  • How to follow simple patterns to make items you can take home (including a bag)
  • How to use decorative and utility stitches to make seams
  • How to prepare and cut fabric

The class is 3 hours a week for 10 weeks.

Once you've completed So & Sew‚ continue on to the next level: Next Stitch.

Classes are normally scheduled according to school terms and thus there are generally four intakes per year. If you don't see any classes listed below please click on the enquire button and we will contact you to discuss your enrolment options.

All classes are delivered at venues throughout Wyndham. Note: if a class is listed as online you will need to ensure you have access to a reliable desktop computer/laptop and wifi/internet. The fees listed below constitute a services and amenities fee which is non-refundable. When enrolling through the online system payment must be made with a credit/debit card.

There is an additional $10 resource fee in addition to the fees listed below.

We recommend the use of a computer/laptop/tablet and not a smart phone when enrolling.
