Craftermania is a hands-on, supportive course for learners experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, isolation, or disengagement who want to expand coping strategies through craft activities. Participants will bring their own projects—such as knitting, crochet, sewing, embroidery, tapestry, or cross-stitch—and develop practical skills, problem-solving strategies, and health literacy. The course provides a safe, guided environment to build confidence, connect with others, and explore pathways to further training or employment.

Course Information:

Craftermania will cover:
  • Self-assessment of mental health and identifying stress triggers
  • Using crafts as a coping mechanism and understanding the benefits of taking time out
  • Planning and completing a craft project, including budgeting, materials, and timelines
  • Reading patterns, following instructions, and accessing resources online and in the community
  • Developing communication skills and health-related vocabulary
  • Reflecting on learning styles, personal skills, and potential training or employment pathways
  • Working collaboratively, problem-solving, and supporting peers
  • Exploring mental health resources and increasing health literacy
  • Networking for ongoing social connection and emotional support

The class is 2 hours a week for 5 weeks.

Classes are normally scheduled according to school terms and thus there are generally four intakes per year. If you don't see any classes listed below please click on the enquire button and we will contact you to discuss your enrolment options.

All classes are delivered at venues throughout Wyndham. Note: if a class is listed as online you will need to ensure you have access to a reliable desktop computer/laptop and wifi/internet. The fees listed below constitute a services and amenities fee which is non-refundable. When enrolling through the online system payment must be made with a credit/debit card.

There is an additional $5 resource fee in addition to the fees listed below.
