Introduction to Cake Decorating will cover:
- Identifying equipment needed for cake decorating
- Creating a crumb coat, and covering a cake using buttercream and fondant icing
- Exploring techniques such as stencilling using buttercream icing, different piping techniques, rice paper fans, chocolate ball creation, rainbows (fondant), and making an animal figurine (fondant)
- Understanding food safety techniques when using various equipment and materials
- Understanding how to develop a realistic business plan
The class is 3 hours a week for 10 weeks.
Classes are normally scheduled according to school terms and thus there are generally four intakes per year. If you don't see any classes listed below please click on the enquire button and we will contact you to discuss your enrolment options.
All classes are delivered at venues throughout Wyndham. Note: if a class is listed as online you will need to ensure you have access to a reliable desktop computer/laptop and wifi/internet. The fees listed below constitute a services and amenities fee which is non-refundable. When enrolling through the online system payment must be made with a credit/debit card.
Note: Not suitable for people with allergies. There is an additional $40 resource fee in addition to the amount listed below. Most cupcakes and resources included; students will need to provide 2 basic sponge cakes throughout the term (either store bought or home made). Teacher will provide further information in the first class.
We recommend the use of a computer/laptop/tablet and not a smart phone when enrolling.
