Course Details Pre Accredited

• learning common words and phrases you will encounter when working in ECEC
• reading a job description, to understand work related tasks in ECEC
• the daily routine of an Early Childhood teacher
• an introduction to the National Quality Framework, Early Years Learning Framework and Child Safety Standards
• an introduction to documenting learning experiences in an ECEC centre
• learning tips and tricks for greeting and settling children
• learning about encouraging hygiene and healthy eating for children
• basic first aid (including an  introduction to anaphylaxis and asthma)
• writing accident reports
• an introduction to cultural awareness
• building positive relationships and using positive language
• using nonverbal language
• positive communication with parents
• occupational health and safety (OHS)
• an introduction to mandatory reporting

The class is 5 hours a week for 16 weeks.

There will only be one intake for this course per year. For Skills for Work & Study (Early Childhood Education) you need to enrol in person at 20 Synnot Street during office hours. 

All classes are delivered at venues throughout Wyndham. This course is free if you have a green Medicare card; you will have to pay a fee if you do not have a green Medicare card.
