Through a thematic approach this course is designed to develop an understanding of the culture of the Australian community / workplace environment and prepare participants to successfully live and work in Australia.

Course Information:

Living and Working in Australia will cover:
  • To prepare to actively and confidently participate in the local community
  • To prepare to sit the citizenship test and to gain confidence in meeting and greeting in a formal situation
  • To develop an understanding of the rights and freedoms of Australians seen through a cultural and historical context
  • To develop an understanding of our parliamentary democracy, the government and judicial systems
  • To develop an understanding of workplace culture including one's rights as an employee thus making the transition into the workforce easier
  • To develop an understanding of the benefits of networking and volunteering and the process of finding work in Australia. 
  • To understand and work towards the English language skills needed to successfully live and work in Australia 
  • To provide a platform for learners to discuss any issues they may have related to living and working in Australia

The class is 2 hours a week for 10 weeks.

There are 4 intakes every year. Classes are normally scheduled according to school terms and thus there are generally four intakes per year. If you don't see any classes listed below please click on the enquire button and we will contact you to discuss your enrolment options.

All classes are delivered at venues throughout Wyndham. Note: if a class is listed as online you will need to ensure you have access to a reliable desktop computer/laptop and wifi/internet. The fees listed below constitute a services and amenities fee which is non-refundable. When enrolling through the online system payment must be made with a credit/debit card.

There is an additional $5 amenities fee in addition to the fees listed below.

We recommend the use of a computer/laptop/tablet and not a smart phone when enrolling.
