Digital Essentials is a practical, confidence-building digital skills course designed for adult learners who want to improve their ability to use everyday technology. Learn to use a range of devices, navigate online services, communicate safely, and complete common digital tasks needed for work, study, and daily life. Participants will practise real-world skills using email, Word, social media, online search, file management, device connectivity, and secure online activities.
Course Information:
Digital Essentials will cover:
- Using a range of digital devices confidently
- Building email skills, creating documents in Word, and organising files
- Searching for information online and checking sources for accuracy
- Communicating and connecting with others using social media
- Managing information and using everyday online services
- Connecting devices using Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and adjusting basic settings
- Understanding online safety, privacy, scams, and secure information handling
- Exploring new online experiences such as shopping, services, and transactions
- Practising communication, collaboration, and problem-solving in digital contexts
The class is 3 hours a week for 9/10 weeks.

Classes are normally scheduled according to school terms and thus there are generally four intakes per year. If you don't see any classes listed below please click on the enquire button and we will contact you to discuss your enrolment options.
All classes are delivered at venues throughout Wyndham. Note: if a class is listed as online you will need to ensure you have access to a reliable desktop computer/laptop and wifi/internet. The fees listed below constitute a services and amenities fee which is non-refundable. When enrolling through the online system payment must be made with a credit/debit card.
For classes at Dianella CC there are 10 laptops available for students. As some people prefer using their own laptops, we encourage you to bring your own if you have one.
We recommend the use of a computer/laptop/tablet when enrolling. Do not use a smart phone.
