Unlock creativity and confidence with this hands-on sewing course designed for improving beginners. Explore fabrics, learn essential construction techniques and develop accuracy with both hand and machine sewing as you create accessories, homewares and personalised gifts, and build skills you can use for future sewing projects at home.

Course Information:

Sew crafty will cover:
  • Creating small accessories such as scrunchies, pouches, key fobs and organisers
  • Making practical home and gift items including cushion covers, produce bags and quilted pieces
  • Understanding different fabrics and selecting suitable materials for projects
  • Precision measuring and cutting techniques
  • Seam construction, topstitching, and accuracy with machine and hand-sewing
  • Closures such as zippers, buttonholes, casings and ties
  • Decorative techniques:  pleating, bias binding and appliqué
  • Patchwork and beginner quilting essentials
  • Using elastic, interfacing and specialty materials
  • Professional finishing touches, presentation and care labelling
  • Guided demonstrations and supportive practice to build skill and confidence every session

The class is 3 hours a week for 9/10 sessions.

Classes are normally scheduled according to school terms and thus there are generally four intakes per year. If you don't see any classes listed below please click on the enquire button and we will contact you to discuss your enrolment options.

All classes are delivered at venues throughout Wyndham. Note: if a class is listed as online you will need to ensure you have access to a reliable desktop computer/laptop and wifi/internet. The fees listed below constitute a services and amenities fee which is non-refundable. When enrolling through the online system payment must be made with a credit/debit card.

There is an additional $10 resource fee in addition to the fees listed below.
