VICTORIAN CERTIFICATE OF APPLIED LEARNING (VCAL)
A hands-on option for students in Years 10, 11 and 12. The Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) provides students with a more flexible approach to their education and training.
It aims to provide the skills, knowledge and attitudes to enable students to make informed choices regarding work and further education.
Our program gives students practical work-related experience, as well as literacy and numeracy skills and the opportunity to build personal skills that are important for life and work. Like the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE), VCAL is an accredited senior secondary certificate.
Wyndham CEC offers the following VCAL programs:
The program focuses on basic and preparatory knowledge and employability skills. There is also a strong emphasis on literacy and numeracy skills.
The program focuses on knowledge and employability skills development that leads to independent learning, confidence and a higher level of transferable skills.
At Senior level the focus is on knowledge and employability skills that lead to a high level of interpersonal skills, independent action and achievement of tasks that require decision making and leadership. The demonstration of knowledge and skills that apply directly to the workplace or further training is also important
